Hing Gwan Kho is qualified physician after graduating from the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands in 1974. Since 1982 he is registered anaesthetist. The Ph.D.degree is obtained in 1991 after he defended his academic thesis "Acupuncture in Anaesthesia and Surgery. Studies in
China and the Netherlands" at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands. A grant from the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences (KNAW) made a further study possible on the use of acupuncture anaesthesia for the removal of brain tumor at the Shanghai
Renji Hospital in the period of 1993-1996. Up to date he works as anaesthetist at the University Medical Centre of Nijmegen, and is mainly taking care of paediatric patients with urological pathologies. In 2010 he jointed the Dutch foundation "Care4tina" to voluntarily performing surgical
reconstruction of newborn's cheiloschizis in Xi'an children hospital, China.
